Youth Rock Ministries
How did Youth Rock Ministries come to be? The short answer is that it is an answer to Gods calling for me right now. I have served in various churches as Youth Director/Pastor over the last decade. In 2008 I put my faith in God and moved my family back to Texas to be closer to both mine and my wife’s family. (We have two small children and we wanted them to grow up around their grandparents.) I left that calling confident that I had fulfilled what I was sent there to do and began searching for my next “assignment”. Over the last year I have learned a lot about myself, the world and my family. I have done many new things over the past year to help support my family (while searching for a Youth Ministry position) one of which has been mowing lawns. In Texas that is not so much fun especially on the August days that reach 110 degrees. However, it is a great opportunity for prayer which is what I did most of the time I was mowing.
One day in late August as I was mowing and praying...praying and mowing..the answer
came to me. The answer to what? Well I had been asking God for a while how He
wants me to serve Him right now. The answer was clear and I heard God telling me
to minister to youth through the internet. Of course I wondered if this meant being
more active in the Facebook and/or Myspace community. The more I prayed about it
the more the vision became clear for this web-
One thing I do want to say is that I hope all youth are able to find a local youth ministry to get plugged into. (If you need help let me know). It is so important to be a part of a community of faith.
